recent thoughts

Its been a while since I popped out a new entry but whatever. I been thinking a lot lately about the role (if it even has any significance) of religion in my life. I currently am an atheist but that does not mean I hate or dislike other religions I just don't find the belief system to be ethical. My mother is a hardcore Christian so I don't know how I'm going to tell her or if i even can tell her that I don't believe in something that she's put so much into devoting herself too.

I love my mother but sometimes she just shows some characteristics that almost disgust me. I'm not 100% sure but Ive got a strong sense that she's a homophobe ( witch is probably due to her strong religious beliefs) well i have too go ill post you in on everything later

peace

  1. I can see where you're coming from, but do you see where she's coming from. I've learn we must all choose our battles. Your mother loves you no matter what, and it's obvious you love her too. So don't burden her with your opinions on religion, it'll only open up a can of worms you can't close, and may regret opening. Have your opinions, but do as she says. When you're old enough to live your life the way you believe you should then you can freely think and practice what you want. As for now, your mother works to hard and thanks her god for so much just so you can decent? Let her live happily believing these thoughts. Homophobia is a horrible result of organized religion, but what can you do. I've seen families torn apart because of it. Ignorance can be a bliss, or a nightmare, depending on what side of it's gun you're standing in. Cheers.
